💧 Reimagined Water Tools

Our Lake and Water Body system just got a massive upgrade:

  • Lake Tool is now smoother, more stable, and easier to use
Improved Lake Tool
  • Coastal Tiles now feature natural-looking, jagged edge variations – no more straight, artificial-looking coastlines
Coastal Variations are here!
  • Rivers now intersect seamlessly with coastlines, creating dynamic water connections
River now intersects with coasts!
  • WaterFill Tool has returned as a separate option for more control

🏰 Wall Tool Now Supports More Gates

Building cities and walls just got smarter:

  • The Wall/City Tool is now more stable
  • You can intersect City Roads and Paths with Walls to auto-generate gates—making your towns and strongholds more alive and functional

📦 Desert, Dwarven & Elven Tiles Are Ready!

We’re excited to announce that the Desert, Dwarven, and Elven tile sets are complete. We’ll be sharing visuals in the coming days!
These tiles will be made available with the 1.0 Steam launch, as we’re currently finalizing chunking and distribution setup for Steam.

Hey Realmsmiths!

Update 0.6.0 marks a huge leap forward. We’re introducing powerful new tools that will make your mapmaking faster and smarter — with City Tool, Lake Fill Tool, and Digital Export, alongside Mac support and deeper compatibility features!

Many of these features are marked Experimental, meaning they're still evolving, but you can start using them right now and help shape how they grow. Let’s dive in 👇

🛠️ Highlights

🏙️ City Tool (Previously Wall Tool) (Experimental)

Build cities in seconds! Wall tool is now City Tool and now this tool automatically places wall tiles along the perimeter and fills the interior with city filler tiles. You can even use it to create standalone walls by setting the radius to 0.

Create and Expand Cities Faster!
You can use it as a Wall Tool too!


🌊 Lake Fill Tool (Experimental)

Turn empty ground into dynamic lakes with ease — this tool detects edges, places coastal tiles, and fills the rest with water automatically. No more separate coastal and fill fiddling.

Create Water bodies faster than before!

🖼️ Digital Export

Most anticipated feature is here! Export high-resolution images of your maps with custom sizing — perfect for VTTs, printing, or sharing.

💻 MacOS Build Support

Mac users, it’s here! While still in early testing, MoR is now playable on MacOS 🎉

🍎 MacOS Build Support (Early Access)

  • Tested on: Mac Mini M2 Pro
  • Requires a Mac with a Metal-compatible GPU (macOS 11.0+ recommended)

Some features may still be under testing or limited, so please report any issues you run into. Your feedback will help us improve the build experience for Mac users.

Future-proofing starts now. We’ve introduced a Compatibility Layer to ensure smoother transitions for future updates and backward compatibility with your older maps and tags.

We’re back with another exciting update for Master of Realms! 🎉 Patch 0.5.3 brings a major engine upgrade, UI and usability improvements, bug fixes, and new content based on your feedback.

🔧 Changes & Improvements

  • Upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.5.2 for better performance, stability, and future-proofing.
  • Wall Single objects are now available in the toolbox! 🏗️
  • Disabled water reflection during 2D Export for improved clarity.
  • Added a confirmation message when saving settings.
  • Disabled Vignette on 2D Export for sharper visuals.
  • Added a confirmation popup when exiting the app using Alt + F4 to prevent accidental closures.
  • "R" key now enters rotation mode for any draw type on objects and tiles.
  • Steam Workshop logic improved and cleaned up for a smoother experience.
  • Mouse-centered zoom with ALT + Scroll is now implemented.
  • Tile draw rotation now uses "R" instead of mouse scroll (scroll remains for zooming).
  • Draw type buttons now auto-hide when not needed to declutter the UI.
  • Fixed various texture issues improving visual consistency.

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a fatal error that could occur when deleting a tile with objects on it.
  • Fixed Steam Workshop crashes.8
  • Fixed Viewbox interaction issues with zoom and navigation.
  • Fixed crash when pressing "G" or "CTRL + D" while rotating a tile.
  • Fixed Country Path intersections.
  • Fixed distance culling issue for meshes with foliage (Forest Tiles).

🆕 Additional Updates

Newly Scaled Tile STLs:

Newly Scaled Tile STLs are being uploaded and will be available for download shortly after this update!

  • These are based on the polls conducted on Discord.
  • They represent the in-app tiles but had to be scaled up for better usability.

🐧 Linux Build is now available! :

  • Some features may be buggy or unavailable for now, so please report any issues.

Mac Build is coming soon! 🍏 Stay tuned for updates.

🎮 Unactivated Steam Keys—Please Activate ASAP!

We’ve noticed that several backers have yet to activate their Steam keys. If you haven’t redeemed yours yet, please do so as soon as possible! This ensures you can access the latest patches and features we’re rolling out regularly.

➡️ How to Redeem Your Steam Key:
1️⃣ Open Steam
2️⃣ Click on GamesActivate a Product on Steam
3️⃣ Enter your key and start exploring Master of Realms!

We're keeping up with our commitment to monthly updates, and Patch 0.5.2 is here! We’ll be releasing new updates every 16th-17th of the month, just like we do with these Kickstarter updates.

🚀 Troubleshooting Tips for Game Launch Issues

Update your GPU drivers, verify game files on Steam, or delete the MasterOfRealms folder from AppData if you experience crashes. Full details in our Discord!
 

🔹 Patch 0.5.2 Highlights:

Decals fade near the camera for better visibility
Grid resizing improved – drag to adjust
Zoom now available via UI buttons
Bridges added in Single Object Mode!
Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements: Resolved crashes, map loading issues, floating/disappearing objects, UI glitches, and FPS limiter conflicts.
