Project Progress

UI Refresh:

We've given the user interface a refreshing overhaul! The new design is now more minimalistic and streamlined, focusing on simplicity and ease of use. We've removed unnecessary ornamental elements to create a more modern and cleaner look with a floating UI style that provides a more immersive experience. This update reduces clutter, enhances clarity, and makes navigation more intuitive, allowing you to focus on building and exploring your perfect maps without distractions. 🖥️🎨

Viewport Functionality Updates:

We have made significant improvements to the Viewport Functionality to give you more control over the visual elements of your maps:

  • Grid Transparency Control: Adjust the grid transparency to highlight specific map details or to make certain elements stand out. This feature allows for a more personalized aesthetic.

2D Export Implementation:

The 2D Export Implementation is now fully complete! You can export your 2D maps effortlessly, tailored to the paper size you selected at the beginning. 🖨️

  • Export to Any Paper Size: Choose from sizes like A4, A3, or any other to get your maps in the format you need.

  • Automatic Page Continuation: If your map extends beyond the selected size, additional rows will automatically appear on a new page of the same size.

  • Digital Export Flexibility: For digital exports, simply select “custom” at the beginning, and your map will be exported in the exact dimensions you need. 💻✨

Single Object Placement and Updates:

We’re excited to announce that you can now place single objects directly onto your map! If the existing tiles don’t have what you’re looking for, you can use this new feature to add unique elements such as forests, houses, or other objects to create the exact map you envision. You can draw these elements using a brush tool or quickly spawn them by dragging a rectangle—whatever suits your creative needs! 🌳🏠

Additionally, we've added several new options now that we have Object Selection Mode in our selection tool to give you even greater control over single objects:

Context Menu in selection tool:

We’re excited to announce that the Context Menu has been fully integrated into the toolbar’s selection tool. This feature enhances user control and interaction, making it easier and more intuitive to manage tiles on the map. Below are the key actions you can now perform using the context menu:

Project Progress

UI Implementation:

We have made significant strides in the implementation of the upper side of the user interface, which includes all menus. This is a major milestone as it enhances the overall usability and aesthetic appeal of the application. 🎨✨

Toolbox and Toolbar Rework:

In addition to the UI updates, we have commenced a comprehensive rework of the Toolbox and the addition of a Toolbar, which was not previously included. This task has involved substantial restructuring of the tags based on tile categories. The new Toolbox and Toolbar will provide users with more streamlined and efficient access to tools and functionalities, thereby enhancing productivity and user experience.🛠️🔧

Context Menu Functionality:

Our team has also begun developing the context menu functionality. This feature will significantly enhance the user experience by providing quick access to relevant actions and options directly within the application. The context menu will allow for more intuitive controls and a smoother workflow, making it easier for users to interact with and manipulate elements. 🖱️📋

Tile Scaling:

Tile scaling remains an ongoing task. Due to the decision to reduce the size of the tiles, each tile needs to be meticulously redone from scratch. This process is complex and time-consuming, but it is essential to ensure that the tiles are of the highest quality and fit perfectly within the new scale. We understand that this task is taking longer than anticipated, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to complete this crucial aspect of the application. 🔍🕰️

As we continue to focus on core and non-visual work, more visual updates will be shared once the UI implementation is complete and the scaled core tiles are integrated into the application. 📢 Advancements in UI and Core Systems: June 2024 Update

We're excited to bring you the latest updates on the development of Master of Realms. Your support and enthusiasm drive us to make this project extraordinary. Let's dive into what's been happening since the last update!

Project Progress:

🎨UI:

We are thrilled to announce that the UI design, which we shared screenshots of last month, is now fully completed. 

We have exciting things in the design, such as the toolbar, context menu and label system.

🛠️Core Tiles and Animation:

Our team is diligently working on core tile scaling. Additionally, we have successfully completed the core conversion to C++. This significant milestone enhances the performance and efficiency of MoR

We have also implemented a way to add animations for the tiles, bringing more life and dynamism to the user experience.

🎲Miniature Tokens:

We are excited to inform you that most of the miniature token models are ready! Only two tokens left. These tokens will soon be integrated into MoR, allowing you to move them around and see the map in an entirely new way. The remaining two tokens are in the final stages of development and will be completed in the next few days

We committed to providing monthly updates following the successful conclusion of our Kickstarter campaign on April 16th

Updates are posted on the 16 or 17th of each month. 📝

📢 Kickstarter Update: Roadmap and Status Information 📢

We are thrilled to share some exciting updates on the progress of Master Of Realms since our Kickstarter campaign concluded on April 16, 2024. Thanks to your incredible support and valuable feedback, we’ve been hard at work to make this project the best it can be. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

🔄 Setting the Roadmap:

Since the campaign ended, we've diligently gathered suggestions and feedback from our Discord community and Kickstarter comments. We’ve carefully reviewed all the inputs and incorporated them into our Kanban roadmap.

🖌️ Finished UX Wireframing and Moved on to UI Design:

Following our previous update about the complete UI/UX overhaul, we have completed the UX wireframing and have now begun working on the UI design. Exciting new elements like a bottom toolbar, context menus, and a labeling system are in development. Our professional team is diligently integrating both new and existing features to ensure a seamless and user-friendly experience. You can see the glimpse of new UI below:

🏠 We've decided to go with Abstract Scale for Tiles:

After extensive consideration, we've concluded that for v1, we'll adopt an abstract scale for our tiles. This decision allows us to focus on a single tile scale, avoiding the impracticality of creating numerous tiles for different scales. In this approach, certain assets like houses and trees will be scaled down to fit proportionally, while others will be exaggerated to enhance their visual impact. This balance will enrich both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the game. We'll release specific scale versions as DLCs in the future.

🔄 Core Tile Redesign and Scaling:

Since we decided to scale the tiles down slightly, we are revamping the core tiles, making them suitable for 3D printing and in-game use. This change is fundamental to improving the overall quality and versatility of the tiles.

💻 Performance Enhancements:

To ensure a smoother and more efficient experience, we are converting all blueprints to C++. This change is crucial for long-term performance improvements, allowing users to enjoy a better and more responsive application.

These foundational changes are essential for the future of Master Of Realms, setting the stage for a robust and immersive experience. We appreciate your continued support and patience as we work towards delivering these exciting updates.
